The Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs (Komdigi) of Indonesia issued several decrees that allow the launch of wireless Wi-Fi 6E and Wi-Fi 7 technologies operating in the 6 GHz frequency band.

The Decree of the Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs # 12 of 2025 determines the radio frequency spectrum based on class permits for groups of telecommunication equipment and/or telecommunication devices for local radio area networks as follows:
It also determines technical standards for telecommunication equipment/devices for local radio area networks:
These standards help to ensure that devices operating in the 6 GHz frequency band do not interfere with other services.
With the opening of the 6 GHz spectrum, Indonesia has become one of the pioneers in Asia-Pacific region in adopting Wi-Fi 6E and Wi-Fi 7. This will significantly improve the speed and reliability of internet connections across the country.
