The Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organisation (SASO) notifies on amendments that were implemented to national standards:

• SASO 2927:2019 - Lighting Products Registration Requirement (Part 3)
• SASO 2663:2021 - Air Conditioners - Minimum Energy Performance, Labeling and Testing Requirements for Low Capacity Window and Single-Split Types

These amendments were made in accordance with relevant international and national foreign standards and references.

The first amendment concerns the Saudi Standard No. “SASO 2927:2019/AMD2:2023" "Energy efficiency functionality and labeling requirements for lighting products – Part 3: Street lighting". The amendment, approved as a complementary part of the existing standard, deletes the statement about color temperature on Page 37, 10.2 Functionality/Performance LEDs requirements. The amended standard will become effective once it is published in the official gazette.

The second amendment concerns the Saudi Standard No. “SASO 2663:2021/AMD1:2023" "Air Conditioners - Minimum Energy Performance, Labeling and Testing Requirements for Low Capacity Window and Single-Split Types". This amendment focuses on the declaration of rated cooling capacity and heating capacity, acceptance criteria, and market surveillance, as well as additional submittals with regards to requirements for fixed, two (2)-stage, multi-stage or variable capacity units. The amended standard will become mandatory six months after its publication in the official gazette.
